How often should a chimney be swept?
Once a year for anything you burn regularly, and always before the first fire of the season. Wood builds creosote fastest, but gas and oil flues also collect debris and need to be checked yearly.
How do I know my chimney needs repair?
The usual signs are white staining on the brick, crumbling mortar joints, pieces of masonry in the fireplace, a damp smell, a stain on the ceiling near the chimney, or smoke pushing back into the room. If you see any of them, call and we will take a look.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. We are available seven days a week, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including weekends and holidays.
How long does a job take?
A standard sweep and inspection is usually about an hour. Caps, liners and crown work are typically same-day. Larger masonry rebuilds run one to three days depending on the size of the stack and the weather.
Will you make a mess in my house?
No. We put down drop cloths, run a HEPA vacuum at the fireplace opening, and clean the area before we leave. The room should look the way it did when we arrived.
